Worship Advisor
Since the Presbytery of Duns has been incorporated into the super Presbytery of Lothian and the Borders the worship advisor covers Berwickshire and Berwick only and not the much bigger geographical area of the new presbytery. It is important for our mission area that we continue to do what Jesus calls us to do, which is to release the gifts and the talents of the whole people of God.
The much larger presbytery will offer wider opportunities and possibilities, but those who live and work here in the eastern end of the Border lands are passionate about the people of this area - and we want to make sure they’re not lost or forgotten.
This is why there are inspiring and innovative plans about how the 4 ministries this area will be given, might be used.
Each of the 4 ministers appointed, will have a parish – but they will also carry wider responsibilities across the eastern borders: for worship, education, mission, and pastoral care – to act as Advisors to ensure congregations across the county are helped to thrive – and to grow!
WORSHIP ADVISOR:
The person who offers help to:

"ordinary " people of all ages to participate in worship.

provide resources to enable congregations to "do" worship.

offers. training, where necessary, to help with 'the delivery of worship.

encourages the use of the gifts of the, 'whole people of God', in Gods service.

ensure the celebration of baptism and communion.
Aim
To be available and accessible to Kirk Sessions and to help enrich the worshipping life of Christian communities across Berwickshire and Berwick.

By making scripts, ideas and resources available to congregations.

By working with Kirk Sessions to fulfil their vision for worship needs locally.

By inspiring cross-parish working to encourage each other in our common calling.

By working in collaboration with the MISSION, PASTORAL CARE and EDUCATION Advisors to offer a whole -hearted, coherent response to Jesus' call to follow him, as 21st Century- Borders' dwellers!
